Sakhisizwe means "Build the Nation". The name was given to the project by the Teachers.

Sakhisizwe aims to assist teachers to enhance their professional teaching skills by providing them with Workshops followed up with Classroom Support visits where individual teachers' problems and needs are addressed with the ultimate beneficiaries being the pupils, South Africas' future citizens.

Sakhisizwe is involved in a number of projects:

Farm School Project "In Our World" Rural Schools

[more... ]   This project has been developed round the book "In Our World" which was written and illustrated by Farm School children round Grahamstown under the guidance of two Swedish children's writers. [more...]   This project aims to build on the work done in the "In Our World" schools by targeting different teachers and other stakeholders in the same schools. [more...]

It is exciting to be working in education at this time in South Africa and Sakhisizwe is proud to be helping to open up new possibilities for our people in the Eastern Cape.
